I would think with the drought season starting to hit us in the southwest again that people will start looking for your posting. That's why I decided to check it out because although I grow a garden each year I also need to learn drought tolerant vegetables. It's going to get bad by the end of this year and I hope people start looking at what you have said here. And if possible maybe even add? I will be looking and just subscribed. Thank you for any tips that you will be giving me as I have not even made it five minutes into the video yet.

Consider Egyptian spinach ( molokhia) and the Egyptian walking onion. They can deal with the Sahara then they can deal where you folks live, lol. I like them for that and that they taste like the spinach and onions you're used to.

Such great information. In south Florida you have to account for the heat and months of rain for sure. You live, learn, and adjust. Tfs.

Thanks for the tips. I'm looking forward to adding squash to my garden!

There's no wet soil a foot below my soil surface! There is a spring farther down, which waters the established trees most years.

Congratulations! You've been selected for Top Gardener in an imaginary post-apocalyptic tribe! jk but good idea, I've found beet leaves look just like swiss chard are how beets used to be eaten before they figured out the root was edible too. Does chard have a big root? Does it taste like beet leaves?

How do you prevent the beetles or bugs from eating the eggplant? I lost my eggplant to bugs and too much water from the rain.
