I remember so well when President Obama was invited by our Prime Minister Trudeau to address our parliament. He rightfully received a standing ovation. Strong friendship and mutual respect was held between these two leaders. It is not reasonable to expect a voting population to understand the complexities of of policy making and governing. Voters can however be sure they have learned and experienced enough to form a coherent personal philosophy that will make them fairly reliable judges of character. Good character is the primary qualification for good governance.
