There are many factors that can influence the development of cancer but, just as in humans, it is impossible to truly know why some individuals develop cancer while others do not. In some cases, exposure to known carcinogens (cancer-causing agents) such as sunlight, chemicals, and cigarette smoke can play a factor. In other cases, especially with certain breeds (Golden Retrievers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Bernese Mountain Dogs, and Boxers to name a few), there is a genetic susceptibility to cancer. Some cancers are causally linked to obesity, infection, and inflammation, and some need hormones to develop and persist. If cells undergo more and more divisions as the pet ages, the possibility of a mistake (mutation) occurring during these cell divisions increases. The result is that the incidence of cancer increases with age.

The most obvious sign of most cancers is a lump that continues to enlarge. This lump may ulcerate, bleed, or cause other physical effects (e.g., pressure and displacement of the surrounding tissues). Because cancer can develop in any cell in the body, internal cancers can be more difficult to spot. Unexplained, chronic weight loss can be an important sign of cancer. Other signs of cancer can be abnormal bleeding, unexplained vomiting or diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, coughing, and lameness. Bad breath or a change in eating patterns can be a sign of oral cancer. My pup has been recently dx. with Stromal. She had a melanoma on her back that had been removed and during testing found grapefruit size found on her spleen. Had splenectomy. Not a lot of research on this type. Has not metastasized and oncologist found data base where some pups treated. Drug ordered and will start soon. So far she doesn’t know she is ill and we pray it stays that way.

😢so sad 😞 my rottweiler 12 years old just was recently diagnosed with multiple cancers so heartbreaking 💔and so sad she's Ike my child and I wish we could just heal our babies thanks for the info how can we help them heal from those cancers Holistic or naturally it's so unreal that with all the technology and big money 💰 involved we still cannot cure them I will not get a pet for a while it's so hard I've lost so many every time it never gets easier this one really really hurts..

You know everything you're saying is right on I mean I love what your shows and stuff and I seriously think and my older dog has something wrong but you know what the saddest part about all of this is is when you're disabled and you ain't got the money to go through what you're talking about and you have to watch your dog go through this because you can't afford all of that you could even if you had insurance you can't afford it on yourself sometimes but my older dog she throws up foam she don't eat no more I don't think her appetite is really gone nowhere because she's always looking for stuff to eat but she's always wanting something different everyday and now she's like almost 10 11 and she's active make it really pinch it up cuz she eats when she finds something that she wants she will eat too fast and get choked and she'll throw it up herself she's not losing weight I mean she's not like that I mean it's so far but she just lays around and just stares deep in my soul with them brown eyes no matter where I go what I do she just stares at me and she's done this since my brother passed away going on 4 years ago and this was technically his dog but I raised her trainer took care of her he just got the title of saying that it was his dog I bathed her I'm the one who took her to the vet not a lot but took her to the vet he never want to get her pregnant but I got her pregnant I didn't do it she got operator to a Maltese shih Tzu when she was around her late for years five years old everybody said that was too late she had a rough pregnancy rough she had six puppies breached all of them had them and two died she ate the rut of the litter and she quit dried her milk up and kicked him out of the bed at 4 weeks wanted nothing else to do with them so I had to get rid of but I kept one and took care of it and I still got her but the mama dog is a chihuahua pomeranian but the baby the Maltese she don't want nothing to do with it at the time she runs from it higher she can get the better off she is but she's protected of her she don't want no problem she don't want to be messed with by her I just cannot get over why that she just lay around and just stares at me and I can't handle that she plays she barks she people come over and then she just goes right back to her corner and stared at everything I do the Maltese the baby she's four now and she follows me everywhere the bathtub the toilet everywhere my lap just waiting it pouncing and waiting and pounds until I sit down somewhere so she can sit on my chest I don't understand the breed of the dogs and I don't understand if I'm doing something wrong The Maltese have a real good appetite but now she don't because mama don't eat that much and I don't know if it's because of that or something's going wrong with her glands in her throat because they don't swallow very well they sit around and smack and lick and and that thing with their mouth

Thank you for all.Want more!!!!I am more holistic TECH VET..My 13 yrs old bitch was diagnosed last week with cancer, there was intention to her put to sleep by vet. SHE IS DOING WELL now I ve promised vet to visit her in 4 weeks to check Stella's health ( my dog). She lost a LOT of kg. I take care now, so she is starting to get active, and ofc, working on intestines, I know she won''t gain 7 KG in 1 month, but 4 kg would be fine with me for the start, she was never the end of this months we do the check :-).I ve promised to the vet!!!!She ( Stella )now eats all 3 dishes daily, and that is the good sign).Post MORE so I learn and help her more!!!

Hey I have a 14 yr old cat that is loosing chunks of hair around his neck and back legs. Has also been very vocal lately. Is this something I should have him looked at for?
