Been using Perma-Columns, similar concept, good post-frame solution, can definitely be used for decks especially nice for elevated decks over concrete patios. We’ve backfilled and mixed and poured around them. Currently, I don’t see a reason to go back to tubes.

would you know how much they weigh? Is there a chart? Is it possible to form your own piers outside the hole and drop them in instead of working inside a hole? I will look into this but I am not sure my tractor could lift them. Maybe hire a machine to put them in for the intel

What about screw piles? They are becoming very common up north here in Canada. For decks and small buildings.

Precast Concrete is great for all kinds of stuff but is digging a trench like that really better than drilling and pouring concrete? The time needed to trench that vs a skid steer with an auger making 48"x12" holes.
