Why does no one make music like this anymore? We need more Billy Eckstines, especially in today's Covid era.

My Dad used to sing this to my Mom when they were 'courting'. Makes me so emotional.

Pure magic. Rich velvet. A wonderful range up and down the scale. A mark of his talent is: he sounds as fresh and compelling 70 years after first recording this standard. I much prefer him to his contemporaries. It is the tambor or internal sound he produces + his emoting + his musical talent that gets my vote. Absolutely love this guy - wonderful.

Was helping my mom watch “Miss Marple - Murder at the Vicarage” and it opened with this song. It wasn’t listed who was performing it so it took a little research to find it, but wow, such a great song!

I’m no Billy, but I am going to learn to sing this song!

The night is like a lovely tune
Beware my foolish heart
How white the ever constant moon
Take care my foolish heart
There's a line between love and fascination
That's hard to see, on an evening such as this
For they both give the very same sensation
When you're lost in the magic of a kiss
Her lips are much too close to mine
Beware my foolish heart
But should our eager lips combine
Then let the fire start
For this time it isn't fascination
Or a dream that will fade and fall apart
It's love, this time it's love
My foolish heart

It's love, this time it's love
My foolish heart

Remember Lien in Vietnam until end of time.

If you ever have a chance to see the movie 'My Foolish Heart' from which the title song is from, have a full box of tissues at the ready because its a real tear jerker.
Billy Eckstine sings the original. Mr Eckstine, you always are here for us to enjoy your talent. RIP.

We were watching a DVD and heard Be wear my foolish heart...I said, that is Billy Eckstine. I remember my mother playing his records in 1949. She played that and all the popular songs at that time. Funny, how memories remain through out the years.

What a great artist. He's right up there with Frank and Nat. I'm sorry I wasn't more familiar with him when he died but so grateful he can still be heard on YouTube. God bless YT.
