False. Overpopulation caused us food, water, electricity, housing shortage. And there’s no way of solving it yet as of now.

Overpopulation is only a problem if you want to be able to eat and have clean drinking water. You can see the effects of population if you look at California. Water supplies are at critical level. we have water for people but not farming which means you now have to add food crisis to the water crisis. Also, hydropower doesn't work when there isn't enough water, so now we have an energy crisis on top of the food crisis on top of the water crisis.

I strongly disagree. A growing population means more destruction of the natural habitat of animals, more air, and environmental pollution, and water scarcity. Some animals like cheetahs are endangered because of overpopulation which turns their natural habitat into farms and restricts their ability to hunt.

This video is completely wrong. The message I get is that if we do things correctly, overpopulation is not a problem. Well we aren't doing things correctly and hoping that we will have the wisdom to do those things correctly is a stretch to say the least.

I have to get to work, but there are so many problems on this earth directly related to a large human population that I just don't have time to get into all of them. Overfishing, depletion of Amazon rain forest, accelerated loss of animal species, huge ocean pollution, increasing gas prices, more difficulty finding oil fields, severe water shortages (south Africa, other parts of the world will follow), land conflicts, stress on infrastructure, etc. What about population density problems? We just spread people around to the areas that have low population density because we can now work remotely? Good luck with that.

What this video doesn't even mention is that when a society becomes more advanced, they consume a lot more. We saw this with the rise of the Chinese middle class not too long ago. Oil prices went through the roof, beef consumption, etc. The earth can only take so much before it will solve the problem for us.

Yes, we ARE grossly overpopulated.
Our great numbers are only made possible by consuming the finite stores of past energy. Breeding beyond the earths natural carrying capacity in the hopes that some future innovation will avert disaster once our fossil fuel reserves are depleted, is beyond reckless..and not just for humanity. We are currently experiencing Earth’s sixth mass extinction, a loss of species largely driven by human development & habitat loss. Another point. Current trends in human fertility do NOT favor traits conducive to innovation & future civilization building/maintenance.
