Today sees the birth of a new category of computer. The Always Connected PC is a full blown Windows 10 computer that's now powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. This means a couple of significant things that make these computers stand apart from a standard PC.

First of all, as the name states, this computer is always connected, thanks to the technology provided by the Snapdragon 835 processor. Second is that it's extremely power efficient, once again, thanks to the mobile-based architecture… this particular HP Envy X2 can run for an insane 20 hours without needing a charge. Third is the non-compromise experience,.. the 10nm process on the Snapdragon 835 allows this computer to run Windows 10, and with X86 apps running through emulation.

Does anybody here think differently? What I see from this is this is just the start. We all know that these processors aren't really made for Windows/x86/x64 architecture but this is the first stepping stone to a better future. Sure this thing will never be an equivalent to Intel/AMD processors but maybe in the next 2 years we'll see a Snapdragon 9XX that can match the power of an i5, is more optimized (both hardware and software), and has a good enough GPU to run games at low settings. Now imagine what 5 years can bring. What a time to be alive for battery life lovers.

The “catch” is performance, but it will suit many for a PC on the go with that battery life. Looking forward to some benchmarks and real experience tests.

People here in comment section think that best benchmarking for laptop is gaming 5 star PC games. But this is not true for many other people. For some - Office 365 and battery life is benchmark. This AC computers are for the latter ones. They dont care about gaming or Photoshop. They need only full blown PC with Office365 and long lasting battery. Their dream came true this December.

This is basically for commuters, people going on vacation, and probably students. It has great potential.

Another nail in the coffin of office based desktop PC's and even normal laptops. First there's been smartphones with desktop modes (either via a dock or even just an HDMI cable) and now adoption of mobile processors into a slim, portable and adaptable format. Loving how this is progressing, but a little sad that soon actual PC's will just be gaming rigs.

I wasn't thinking what's the catch; I was thinking what's the price.

How do you think this will handle video editing? I'm really considering getting the Novago, but I need it to at least be able to run Hitfilm half-decently...

$600-800 for a weak tablet/laptop... I don't think so man.
EDIT: Here is a ~$500 laptop that's way better than this excuse of a tablet/laptop: Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop: i5-8250U, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD
