love that Nolan isnt even sure why eve is attacking her, and then hears her say to mark "AFTER WHAT SHE DID TO YOU??" And instantly has his hands around her neck

When she hits the animated show, It’s gonna be pretty surreal watching people defend her, simp for her, dismiss her, and call Mark lucky. I promise you there will be a decent chunk of the population saying “nice one, Mark!” The entire point of this scene is going to either go over peoples heads or get ignored because of so many factors. Where did our world fuck up so hard?

I understand why they wanted to redeem her character but it's pretty hard to redeem a violent rapist just by making them go all "ive seen the error of my ways"

The amount of people justifying her character shows we need more representation for male rape victims. What an unjust and stupid world we live in

Fun fact if a woman rapes a man and gets pregnant, she can sue him and make him pay child support, and I'm not joking. Just look up Hermesmann v. Seyer is an example of that.

The problem with Anissa is that her evolution is made "offscreen". After she raped Mark, years passed. Only the results are presented, not the process. So we didn't see her change, there is not enough pages to sympathise with her. She sacrificed herself to save Eve and earned her forgiveness. But she was forgiven by the characters, not the readers

Her “redemption” was forced and just badly written. She SA’d Mark and suffered no real consequences. Her redemption was that she found a husband and had kids. It’s an insult to the readers to just expect us to not only accept her, but also root for her, because she had children.
Her redemption was that she got a happy ending. THAT is why people hate Anissa.

Pretty sure some people are even more mad at her than an average r*pist because some guys are actually defending her, saying that mark was "lucky" and she did him a favor.

That really piss me off. Imagine you get raped, humilhated and desgraced, to the end the culprit be redeemed and you get the role of father/mentor of the result of that filthy act. I hope the animated series fix this, because the outcome of events after this is just a slap in the face for raped men.

As a male victims of female sexual assault I would be fascinated to see the show handle this. The show has historically taken concepts from the comic books and shaped them into far more cohesive poignant stories.

I wonder how they’re going to approach this in the show.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed it to attempted sexual assault, considering they’ve changed so much from the comics already, and it’s sensitive as is, but I would respect them more if they went all the way.

I can't help but think if the gender roles were reversed, the backlash would be 2x worse.

Her "redemption" was awful. After knowing what she did to Mark, I don't know how any other reader could stand to even see her character. Mark should've gotten justice.

nolan instantly on kill mode when there was even a slight insinuation of his precious son being hurt is golden
