Derwent Graphik Line Painter pens: blocked nib

It is really important to replace the cap on your pens otherwise you risk damaging the nib. Due to the permanent nature of the ink once dry the nib may become blocked if the cap is left off. Try these steps to get your pen working again.

I bought the complete set a while ago. Several wouldn't write lines any more, although I could get big blobs out. Before I started soaking the nibs, only 13 of the 20 were working. Now it's up to 18 but I did have to go through the process several times, which was very time consuming. Would prefer a product that wasn't so fiddly but otherwise I love them.

I've persevered with these for several years but 4 out of 7 the colours I bought NEVER WORKED properly from day 2. They have all been treated and stored the same way together and horizontal. I've tried the soaking tips many, many times even soaking overnight in various temperatures of water. The inner fibre of the tips clears but the tiny tip part does not. I'm glad I only bought 7 as they are an expensive. I'm using them up by blobbing the ink into tiny containers and using a dip pen, also you can put them in the tiny bottles with the detachable metal nibs (take care you seal well as they can dry out). I have many beautiful high quality Derwent pencils but I'm afraid I don't rate their pen making abilities. There are other paint pen brands that are much more reliable in my experience.

This worked flawlessly as a fix! However, I have to agree that this would be frustrating to have to repeat while trying to get work done. Perhaps we'll see a design revision at some point?

I really wish they would sell refill ink. They run out so quickly and it is such a waste of plastic to have to buy more.

I really, _really_ *love* these pens. But my nibs dries/clogs as I draw with them. Any tips on how to prevent that? The water trick works but it's such a waste of that lovely pigment and it's a bit annoying to stop drawing and fiddle with blocked nibs.

Im pretty dissapounted, sucha good product it could be, but this happened to me on the first day. Its very expensive and even trying this tehcnique of fixing it, its still the same. :(

They're great pens but so many of them just get faulty very quickly /: it's a bit of a disappointment .... the white one I bought even had a busted nib

Hate the fact that the design of these pens are horrible. Had to switch to Posca. Please fix this and I'll come back. But from the looks of it, the comments are as old as the problem and it's still not getting fixed.

My white either is a dud nib or something :’) anyone else have that issue?
