They wear helmets, they even have wolf head and skull shaped helmets. They interpret the rules differently because they have to provide punishment 4 Space Marine chapters that break the rules.
Ragnar raced a Clan Of Orcs in a stolen looted trukk. There is also theory that the giant wolves that fight along side are fully devolved Wulfen.

Space wolves wear helmets, maybe alot less frequently than other chapters. And they refuse to follow the codex mostly because they dont want to be limited in their numbers because they feel its their responsibility to check other chapters that may turn to chaos

The Vlka Fenryka are a wonderful legion, although Leman Russ has a weird name just like Robute Guilliman. They also have went to war with the inquisition and their chapter master wields an axe that I fully believe is an artefact of Khorne.
