Ottomans paid for the ships(people even collected money among themselves. The British took the money but then did not deliver. So the Ottomans took the 2 german ships that were escaping British navy and was seeking refuge in Istanbul. Those ships later on bombed Russia, and that's how Ottomans entered the war.

The London Conference event is kinda bugged but it doesn't effect the gameplay that much. (iirc) If there is only one Balkan League member left they will request a ceasefire if you refuse the great powers decide to intervene and the procedure starts with the London Conference. If you beat the last one before the conference concludes, the screen kinda just bugs out and stays there for the rest of the game.

Not sure if you know this but you can retreat into enemy territory if you’re being pinned. You just have to retreat into friendly territory and then change the direction to where you want to move. It’s not full proof because if an enemy tries to move onto that tile they will attack you and your odds of winning the battle are drastically reduced, but this has helped me so many times that the risk is worth it

To core the african territories you have to take the minority integration focus tree while at war, when you control them you will have a focus unlocked to core them and after the conflict the territory will be transfered to you

Worse part of the ottomans is the still messy mechanics to deal with minorities and the debuffs it gives in some regions it gives you attrition passively draining your equipment pretty fast if it goes unnoticed

You could actually get the south arabian peninsula, tunisia, and algeria if you finished the minority treatment focus and decisions before the armistice iirc

Could you maybe play bulgaria in thid mod and form byzantium
