What iPod model?

Sleep & Charge just supplies power to USB while the laptop sleeps, so I don't think the feature is what caused a problem.

Did you have iTunes on the laptop with the iPod configured as a storage device? In that configuration you should eject the iPod from within iTunes before disconnecting it from the USB port (which you'd obviously have to do before putting the laptop to sleep) OR just don't disconnect it from USB before waking the laptop and ejecting the iPod from iTunes.

Hi! I have a question, I actually started to use this feature and it started doing something to my ipod and I immediately ejected it and now my music and videos are gone! how do I get them back?

everytime I plug my external hard drive in just to transfer the files from my computer to the external hard drive, then it stops transferring and say sleep and charge is ready? then I tried pluging it in the port that doesn't support the sleep and charge,  let's say I tried every port and it still does the same thing. It's so annoying! any resolve?

It used to work with iPhone 4 and iTunes.
