Notion Charts: Get Stunning Charts In Notion (For Free)

Get Charts in Notion with these three methods, sorted by difficulty from Notion Newbie to Notion Ninja.

Notion Charts are still missing as a native feature, but that doesn't mean we can't implement smart workarounds to visualise our data in Notion.

Here are three free methods to get Charts in Notion.

1️⃣ Notion Charts through embeds

The easiest way to get charts into Notion is through embeds. Tons of tools allow you to export their charts via embeds and Notion can handle most of them. It's super quick to set up, but your data doesn't live in Notion.

2️⃣ Notion Charts via Make and Google Sheets

If you want to keep your data in Notion and still create charts, use Make to sync your Notion Database to Google Sheets and create an embeddable chart. Takes a bit of work to set up, but your chart will automatically update whenever you add new data to Notion. Can't handle more complex data situations too well though, unless you build a fairly complex automation.

3️⃣ Notion Charts via Rows

The most flexible way to get Notion Charts is through Rows. Rows is a spreadsheet tool with superpowers that allows you to run API calls from inside a spreadsheet cell! That's super helpful, because you can first sync your complete Notion Database, including all future changes and then use normal spreadsheet functions to manipulate your data.

I’d like to ask does this work for relation properties and formula properties on notion too? Thanks for the detailed tutorial. I hope to make a graph but the y-axis of the graph is a relation and the Y axis is a formula. Would like to ask whether it will work? If yes then I ll try it out. Looks rather complicated but thanks a lot. Really hope to make graphs to track things on notion.

Thank You so much Matthias, It works, but there is a small issue with the table 2 ( or our notion database ) that is shown in Rows, it's not updating when refreshed, and In the API Call row in Table 1 ( B7 cell ) it doesn't show the () data sign but it shows a no network available typa logo.

Hi, thx for tutorial. I have a problem. Rows application its getting only the first 113 rows of my Notion DB and not all (of course there are a lot of more DB rows). How can i fix? I need charts for financial and its limitating in this way.

Not able to connect Make at all to Notion despite the template I signed from your website. Stuck in the loop of finding my database and "+ Add connections" as instructed on the Make website. There's missing steps on the template, I believe.
