Miniplane ABM Top80 - 5 Reasons For Purchase

My top 5 reasons why I chose to buy a miniplane paramotor. Reasons are in no particular order. (December 2017)

2:53 Sounds exactly like mine, love that noise. I've got a top 80, only it has a heavier grid with two iron rings and the accelerator is different. There are many other differences, but I can hear they're brothers. Maybe that's because I bought mine here in Brazil, from my instructor. Fueling it with AviGas bought in the municipal airport, regular gas (even premium gas) makes paramotors sick here, they just can't vomit because they're not alive.

The only disadvantage with this engine is... When there is little to no wind (and it's usually the best weather for flying), I have to run a lot. Like, a marathon. I'm flying a Dudek Universal (slow, trims totally pulled) and even after take-off it climbs a little "meh..." I'm not fat nor big! I weight 60 kilograms.

Engine is very efficient tho. It consumes 1.5 liters per hour of flight. But if I raise the trims, consumption goes up to 2 liters per hour of flight.

I agree with you, but think that for me the top 5 reasons are:
1. Reliability - It's been around for years and has proven its worth.
2. Efficiency - Sips fuel and allows for long cruising flights.
3. Noise/Vibration - I was also put-off by loud overpowered units and found the MP Top80 a perfect fit.
4. Budget - Why pay more if you aren't going to use it.
5. Support - Like you said, if anything does go wrong there are plenty of parts available.

Nice job. I have about 22 flights on my miniplane Top 80. I agree with all of your points. I wanted the most reliable, proven, lightweight motor available. This fits the bill for sure.

Fun fact: carying two bowling balls won't make your sink rate faster. It will stay exactly the same, you will just fly faster and be more resiliant against wind bumps.
