If you look closely, the Halogen scanner has the correct trailing effect of the Original KITT from left to right and right to left, whereas the LED scanner trail effect is different.

I'm not sure but I believe the LED doesn't drain the battery as much as the Halogen does. If only it had the same trailing effect as the Halogen.

Do they still make Halogen scanners?

Hi there, I am messaging all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I like the Halogen version of the scanner as it has a nice light trail effect to it. How much can I get it + shipping charges

The scanner was halogen in the original Knight Rider series so my choice is halogen. The LED scanners is energy efficient, but the effect is not the same.

Halogen is better for this...it looks more like in original TV show, cause there was used halogen :)

Cree LED's are good but the halogen is a better effect.

I would go for the halogen one as the trail is more cleaner compared to the LED scanner. I would buy the halogen scanner and put it on my car.

Too many bulbs on full brightness at the same time with the LED scanner. To get that halogen trail you only need one bulb at full brightness as the others dim in sequence behind. At the moment halogen wins hands down.
