Saying Jacoby "will give us the best chance to win" is a lie, Mayo just wants Maye to have more time to develop w/o any pressure and become a more finished product...Jacaby looks like he's failed to developed as WE ALL hoped he might. Giving the offensive line more time to gel w/o endangering Maye is an added bonus.

This makes the most sense and why Brissett was brought in in the first place. There will come a time when it makes sense to let Maye start. It just isn't the first game with a new system, new players, and a shaky offensive line.

I think it makes sense considering where the team is. We’re not winning a superbowl this season so why rush drake out there. Jacoby helps the young receivers learn how to play in the nfl, gives the o-line more direction , which is going to make it easier for when drake takes over

I don't understand why the Pats brought Jacoby back to the team. Why not package him with Zappe for a trade to bolster the OL or for perhaps a decent QB? Seems like there were other options than to start a backup QB with a talent for being intercepted.
