At 10% lighter and with the addition of speaker pockets, the Race Star Flex DLX helmet provides a higher degree of comfort over its predecessor. As one of the most premium lids in the game, the Flex DLX advances the Bell Star line into the next iteration of a classic. Features of the helmet include a Flex impact liner, panovision viewport, and a streamlined fitment that was built to reduce noise and remain highly stable at speed.

I have this exact color helmet in Large for about 2 years, its perfect, no high speed wobble(150mph+), no fogging, great field of view, basically a lot of excellent small details that sum up to this helmet. With the special visor the tint is just enough for bright days unless your riding toward the Sun for long periods id recommend wearing some shades. You can ride the visor up confidently at 80 mph speeds, all around well built and looks cool, pleasure to ride this helmet.

I've had this helmet for about a month. That transitions adaptive shield is fine, but it never really goes dark enough; I still have to wear sunglasses underneath on bright days. It does fit perfectly for my head. I've never owned a helmet where you don't have to wiggle your ears a little to fit them properly, which is a common complaint for just about every helmet. The recessed speaker pockets are perfect for the Sena 30K system I'm running. There is a Pinlock visor available (where the Pinlock is already installed) but then you have three visors for the helmet, which is not the worst thing. Its a great lid. Comfortable and light.

= 1500 grams for those in the rest of the world (or those of use who live in the US but watch videos from elsewhere)

I really wish that Bell didn't put so many logos on their helmets. I personally think a lot of their helmets have great design but it's the logo Overkill that ruins it for me. Nice helmet though.

Would be great if you guys could come up with some sort of a wind noise rating system. I've owned some helmets that were nearly perfect except crazy loud above 60mph

Was looking at one of these. But decided to go with a shoei rf1200. An older helmet but well proven. And I think it looks amazing

Careful buying one if not from Revzilla. I ordered one direct from Bell going by the size chart. Way too small. I can't return it as I'm in Canada, so now I have to sell it. I need to go a size up.

only concern is the neck curtain won't last long, the cheap material (might be cheap leather I guess) outside the curtain split into tiny pieces after several months

Nice lid but no pin lock. That’s the reason why I got a shoei.

What about the crash in BSB yesterday Rory Skinner, helmet came off.
Straight away I think
“I bet that’s a Bell Race Star”
Yup.
Killed William Dunlop and Dan Hegarty when their helmets flew off the same way.

Any reason why the MIPS technology is no longer implemented in this? It sounded like it doesn't give as much rotational impact protection as when it had MIPS or did I misinterpret that?

Right now I wear a Bell qualifier size large, it’s the slightest bit too large but only when I wear it for a long time and at high speeds where it gets blown around, a lot of people say to size up on this helmet, do you think I should be a large or XL?

I have the 2022 Blue/Black model. This helmet is only good on the track in my opinion and annoying anywhere else. Not good for touring or adventure riding. Looks great and has good visibility and is light weight. The bad points are it is noisy, it is a painful to put on or take off and ears never seem to find a comfortable position.
