You can also use rubber bands to do this for wormhole shiny hunting, you have one rubber band hold the joystick forward, and another hold down L and R so you can click start to reset

For oras just go to the sand area with the arco bike and find one of those hills!! You can do the same concept! I did it when I needed to level up my pokemon in the daycare after finally finding the right nature for absol and trapinch 😭

⚠️USEFUL TIP⚠️

If you are out and about, and you don’t have paper, or are a weirdo that doesn’t carry change with you, if you have the old 3DS (I’m not sure about the newer one.), you can pop off the cap of the thumb pad, and wedge that under the pad just like the paper and coin. It takes slight convincing to get in and out, but it works.

If somehow it gets “stuck”trying to get out, just pull the pad to the same side you were moving, then take it out. It’s easier than just pulling.

I’ve been using it like that for a while and it hasn’t broken yet lol.

Good ol gen 1 rocket hideout. Tape the button down while walking towards a motion tile. Easy lvl 100 in the day care

If you mod the system you can connect an external controller (as well as keyboard) to your 3ds using Luma and you can use that instead to hold the direction you want down without risking damage to your 3ds’s circle pad.


Though, now you risk that external controller getting damaged but that’s a separate issue 😅
