Installation Ended Prematurely Because of an Error In Windows 10/8/7 [Tutorial]

Commands Used:
msiexec /unreg
msiexec /regserver

When installing or reinstalling a program if you receive an error saying — Fatal error, Installation fails, Installation ended prematurely because of an error, then it’s mostly because of something which may be left behind by the previous uninstallation – and that is causing this problem. When programs uninstall, they leave behind files, and if the uninstallation wasn’t complete, it would result in such error.

Installation ended prematurely because of an error is a generic error which can occur with any software installation or re-installation. So the solutions we suggest here works for similar issues.

This did not work for me. However, when I was searching this problem in other sites, I found a suggestion in the comment section which is to Start the Windows Firewall service also. And that just solved my problem. Hope this helps!

the steps here did not work for me, but when i read the description and realized I still had an older version of epic game installer still installed on my laptop I was able to correct this. So basically, if you get this error, you either make sure you delete all the old files and folders, open up the folder menu type and search epic game installer, either use the old install or delete it. I would just install the old one then let it update from there on after. thanks.

tried the same procedure but still facing the same issue after restarting...installation of CouchDB got rolled back .The message goes like this " Apache CouchDB setup wizard ended prematurely beacause of an error.Your system has not been modified .To install this program at a later time, run Setup Wizard again.Click the finish button to exit the setup wizard ".Kindly help me please..
