I'd like to add when it comes to fall and winter clothes, if you can, hold out for those fall kids' consignment sales AND try checking out your local Walgreens. I was able to get all of my kids school supplies just at Walgreens.

If you get a jansport backpack, you can send it in anytime and they will replace broken zippers or pouches even straps. I bought one from goodwill then sent it in and I got it back looking brand new!

L.L Bean has great backpacks! I have been using the same since 4th grade and now I am going into 8th and once washed it looks and works like when it was brand new

Katherine on WUM, two of my favorite channels combined!! Go ahead and cry, but try to hold it together until he can't see you. I left with tears streaming after dropping each of my kids at kindergarten. It's good to embrace those feelings. If you have to hold off for just a few minutes breath through your nose. Old presentation trick!

I can't believe Carson is starting kindergarten already!!! Where did the time go? He's so prepared, Kathryn! He's TOTALLY going to love school! Take his picture at home because once you get to the school, it will be chaotic! Hold off on crying til you get to your car. We ALL cry when they first still cry & mine are going into the 6th grade & senior year of college!!!It's a milestone! You've prepared Carson so well! I don't know any other child more prepared than he is! Good luck!!!

This is great but just one thing on the backpacks and folders. My little sister likes to get new backpacks every year and the cheap ones always last a year. If your child would rather get a new one every year, go for the $10 or even $5 backpacks. Same with the folders.
