Wish they still made commercials like that. That was fun, must buy more sixties Mountain Dew merchandise.

Fun fact: Willy the Hillbilly is voiced by legendary Grand Ole Opry country singer, Grandpa Jones.

Born in the South. When my family moved North, I would ask for Mountain Dew soda. Northern folks didn't have a clue, I would even tell them about the commercial with the hillbillies in it. They would be so tickled, lol. They didn't even know about Dr.Pepper soda as well. Or the first diet soda Tab, my grandma used to drink it and yes it was good, didn't taste like a diet soda at all. This was in the early 60's. I still talk about this commercial till this day. It's one of my favorites. Lolol, thanks for the memories. Chai

My dad would sometimes bring home bottles of apple moonshine that he traded with some trucker from Kentucky, that would regular stop at his business. The bottles were always old Mountain Dew bottles, and now it makes sense why.

Fun fact: Mountain Dew is an old slag for moonshine

"It'll tickle yore innards" I love that slogan.

Ca. 1965 there were long and short versions of the Odum's Tennessee Pride sausage commercial- the longer one showed a rattletrap truck before the Y9D jingle. At 5, I had no idea that Y9D was a fictional flavoring...
I also remember one commercial for two products- runproof stockings and glass cups you could drive nails with!
