Ferne's probably not wrong, although so far the only fairies in all three seasons had good reason to fight them. they were protecting the forest from dangerous things escaping into the wider world.

Fearne doesn't hate fairies, she hates pixies. There's a difference. She is of the Fae, and thus, is a Faerie. Though, don't let the Fae catch you using that term.
