I Stayed in a Hmong Village Sa Pa Mountains 🇻🇳

■ SA PA, VIETNAM: As I stepped off my bus upon arriving in Sa Pa town yesterday I ran into a Hmong woman by the name of Mama Zee who said she runs a home stay in a tiered rice field in the mountains about 4 hours walk from town. I took her contact details and the next day we journeyed through villages and mountain paths to her family home.

Going to the bus station on a daily to find tourists who wants to stay at her Sa Pa Homestay is a time consuming and more often than not futile endeavour. Let's help her grow her social media presence so she can find foreign trekkers and homestay guests more efficiently.

I honestly thought you were about to fall into a tourist trap when you met her at the bus station and I was so wrong. All she wanted was to show you her village and their way of life which is truely beautiful and magic. What a place and so alive. Nature, animals everywhere and all the people are so friendly. As a 2nd generation Hmong American, it was very interesting watching where I originated from and how life could’ve been for me if we haven’t immigrated to the US during the Vietnam war in 1975.
