I've been following your podcast for awhile and I want to say thank you so much for everything. Your work has changed my life truly. I don't know where I would be today if I hadn't found this podcast.

I am a 70 year old grandma ( sadly estranged from my adult daughter). This wonderful episode has completely allowed me to stop thinking about my issues for a while. And I thank you so much. I love you both and your wonderful relationship. This episode was truly awesome and I will go back to it periodically to listen to this one and the 300 precious podcasts.

Outstanding summary of summary. So much insight. So little action. That's me. I believe in the incremental success of change and am currently working on daily mobility and increasing the time minute by minute. You guys are inspirational and entertaining. Keep it up!

I appreciated the comment regarding “if someone says there’s only one way to do it, they’re probably trying to send you an online programme”!

Thanks for all you do! It's so rich. So often, the timing of the topic blows my mind (like this one).

3 mechanism of change
1. make change more enjoyable
2. make it incremental e.g. 1 % at a time
3. make the change pleasurable

3 big idea
1.context is important
2.insight is is a just start not the whole journey, action are critical too
3.if you want to understand why you doing what you are doing think in terms of wants and needs at deeper level

This has been so validating from my side. Both the gradual cultivation, sudden awakening and language around finding the want to act.

That want to act has eluded me most of my life and kept me from defending my boundaries, taking exciting risks and also when I have acted out of extreme pressure and lack of choice, I've left my body. The leaving prevents me from experiencing my strengths and abilities, from retaining the confidence, and puts me right back at square one.

Loss of memory, loss of swaths of life, loss of autonomy.

But the second frog is totally me if I stop and look in the rear view mirror. 😉

very good. your podcast with your dad is in m top 2 besides psychology in seattle. and I think you do come across as more sensitive and emoting than coldly intellectual. you seem very approachable. thanks for all your free work!

I know that white light moment they were talking about!

I had an eating disorder and woke up one morning and started to eat. It was very mysterious!

Interesting discussion. Left turns are dangerous, though, which is why UPS generally bans them.
