When action in the West Zone of this season’s AFC Champions League resumes on the 14th of September, the race to be crowned Asia’s best club side will – once again – provide a stage for the Continent’s finest to showcase their prodigious talents.

Having been absent since Covid-19 forced its suspension some seven months ago, the competition is set to burst back into life with everything still to play for across all four of the region’s groups. A chance for more headlines to be written, for more drama to unfold.

Indeed, from the excitement of last-minute equalisers to the spellbinding nature of glorious goals, West Asia has already provided talking points galore, moments to savour that promise to be just as readily available when the cut and thrust of competitive football gets underway in Qatar.
