A few weeks ago I saw my elderly neighbour walking to the shops with her husband walking several steps behind her, presumably struggling to keep up. I knew it was him from his distinctive long white hair and Panama hat. A few days later I saw the wife walking alone and I asked how her husband was. She replied he had died 6 months previously.
