Fully appreciate the comments about fiat money, debt, and ecological conservation.

My usual reservations are organisms cause a greater increase in entropy in their environment than the decrease in entropy associated with their increased complexity. Like the buddhist: all pain is desire. But given that life can only live within these constraints, it definitly makes sense to search fo more efficient pathways. And finance does indeed play a vital role in how we organise our societal metabolism.

Respect, it takes a bold person to a stand. And we can be cruel when we hear things we don't like. My apologies.

Thank you for your interest in this topic. Negentropy = Order. The term Negentropy seemed like entropy is bad and humans should fix it with a hard currency. I am a Chemist and I think entropy and thermodynamics are beautiful and entropy fixes things because work has to be done for nature to create again with leftover raw materials (from entropy). Entropy and Thermodynamics will fix everything on Earth and in the Universe in the long run.

its worthwhile thinking about how the climate crisis came about and the solutions. I think the root cause of the climate crisis is the unsustainable global human population ie over 2 billion in the estimation of many. I dont think overpopulation is going to be countered or cured by Bitcoin.

If your goal is to reduce ore extraction, then you should not consider any digital technology. All servers and chipsets are subject to programmed obsolescence and are poorly recyclable. I do understand your points. However, you are under estimating the dark side of crypto currencies.

How can a cryptocurrency prevent fiat money from being created?

A hard money standard to be environmentally protective has to make all the wealthy people poorer, so why should they invest in that scheme?

For the coming years there will not be sufficient amounts of renewables to replace fossil processes. Isn‘t it counterproductive then to divert larger quantities of renewables into a financial storage system?

Hey Jason, you're now at an understanding of the monetary system we are living in which many people before you have reached. Before the Bitcoinbros there were the gold bugs. Please, don't stop at this level of unterstanding because unfortunately it is more complicated than FIAT = bad, Bitcoin/Gold = good. I hope you will keep on learning about it because I also think that we have to talk about it more and in changing the monetary system we can achieve much more than maybe with almost anything else. But Bitcoin is NO solution. It's a trap for those who don't want to make the next step. I was at your point of understanding but once you see clearly you will wonder how you ever could have believed what you are telling in this video. In my opinion everybody should read David Graebers Debt: The First 5, 000 Years and follow all the information in that book. Double entry bookkeeping is essential to understand for our modern monetary system but also the problems it brings with it. I beg you that you don't stop at Bitcoin because it just seems like a solution and although I fully trust you that you have good intentions in the end you will help the cryptobros to destroy this world. I am someone who have studied the monetary system for many years and David Graeber ist just one author I could go on.
