Chines President Xi on Pandemic, Global Economy, 'Cold War Mentality'

Chinese President Xi Jinping talked about the need for greater coordination of efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the outlook for the global economy, and the Chinese government's pledge to further open its economy. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia via video link, Xi avoided any direct reference to Russia's invasion of Ukraine while he called for respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, upholding non-interference in internal affairs, and rejecting a "Cold War mentality." (His remarks are translated)

China has over 6000 years of history of its ups and downs all written documents. This is why the Chinese are ready for anything that comes forward. China has always been 2 steps ahead even there was some lag in the 1950s, China still pulled their weight in the 2020s. China was always at top and now they are not willing to stop being the top of the global market again.

Listening to CCP speeches is like listening to speeches from a corporate CEO in America - full of buzzwords and expressions that are overused in their spheres to the point that they become virtually meaningless. It's like they took a list of all of the words they wanted to use and then wrote a speech around those words.

Although< I have interests in global economics I don't watch the news anymore... I have enough FUD lol. Thanks for this news and offering your insight on how to navigate during unfortunate times/events like this. You're right about keeping level headed when investing so that's why I think it's important to limit the amount of FUD we consume. Thoughtful, profound, well-spoken words by Chinese President Xi Jinping promoting universal sustainability, moderation and peace. All in the World have so much more to gain by coming together; likewise, we all have so much more to lose when we do not. But...China didn't join hands with the world. They chose a path of self interest, demonstrated by their UN votes. Their actions show support for Russia, a country that aggressively invaded their neighbour. Don't get me wrong, I like Xi's words...but Chinas refusal to stand with Ukraine when they were being violently invaded is intolerable.
