Agios Nikolaos is a charming coastal city located in Eastern Crete, Greece. It is approximately an hour’s drive from the capital city of the island - Heraklion. The city has a population of around 15,000 people and is the 3rd largest city in Crete and also municipal centre of Lasithi region.
One of the must-see sights of the city is the spectacular Voulismeni Lake, a small saltwater lake in the center of Agios Nikolaos that is said to be bottomless according to local legend.
