Watching tutorials really changed my painting for the better. I'm a self taught painter(no a particularly good one) from a young age. I use to never watch videos for advanced techniques because they made me feel overwhelmed. But channels like Miniac and Squidmar managed teach such techniques with humor and a relaxed approach that made me feel more comfortable.

So glad I found your feed. Thanks also for all the other channel recommendations. I'm back painting minis after about 20yrs off. My eyesight has gone west since then and I now need 1.5 mag glasses to even see where the brush is pointing! Now 59 summers old I'm having loads of fun learning techniques old and new, and getting better gear, brushes, paints than I've ever owned. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Honestly, I think the thing that would reallyimprove my painting would be to actually want to collect something that's not a hoard-type army, which tends to make me prioritise quick and dirty methods.

I've painted close to 50 miniatures in the past 2 years and I still have trouble figuring out how thin I need/want my paints. It's definitely a learning curve, but it can be enjoyable.
