It seems like they treated everything before Christmas as the preseason. They obviously couldn’t come right out and say this due to the rules around load management. But it seems pretty obvious right now that’s what they did. Which as a Sixers fan. I’m completely fine with. Especially if Embiid and PG are healthy and firing on all cylinders at the end of the year instead of limping to the end.

I disagree with the idea that the front office might not go all in. The second they signed PG they were all on regardless of record. They're locked into 3 max contracts for the next 4+ years, two of which are guys 29+ They'll definitely be making a move around the trade deadline. The question isn't if, but who. My guess is they would look for younger forward talent with the hopes of pushing martin to the bench and shoring up the rotation that way

Think a Herb Jones/Keegan Murray/Whitmore/Jabari Smith type of player

IMO that bench is significantly better with one move, and they could possibly make 2 at the deadline certainly have the assets for it
