Nancy Pelosi BANNED from Receiving Communion Until She Repents of Ab0rtion Support

On Friday afternoon, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco publicly stated that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not allowed to receive Holy Communion due to her public support of abortion, in contradiction with the teachings of the Catholic Church. This means that the priests of his archdiocese are not to allow her to receive the Eucharist throughout the archdiocese, and other bishops have followed suit for their own dioceses as well.

Banning someone from receiving the Eucharist is the Church's statement that they are not in full communion with the Catholic Church in their beliefs or actions, and only happens when someone is very publicly contradicting the Faith. The purpose of this ban is to both prevent the scandal among other Catholics, as well as to call the individual to repentance in order to reinstate communion with God and the Church.

Very glad the point was made that we should be praying for anyone who has sinned so gravely as to be denied the Eucharist. If we believe that reception of communion is vital to our salvation, and we have ANY idea of the pains of hell, then our prayers for those who need them most should be pouring from our hearts. The very best outcome is seeing a contrite heart, repentance of the sin and a soul returning to Christ and the Church.

Love this Archbishop. Didn't know he was archbishop in her diocese. No doubt there may be reasons why he did it now. It's a brave stand given who the ban is for and how hostile the climate is to anyone in public eye who stands up for the unborn baby. Some Catholics are confused regarding abortion and misled about whole women rights argument and what Catholic Church position is. This gives a clear message. He wants to save souls like good shepherd.
