Freyja has been part of my recovery journey from drug/alcohol abuse. If someone would have told me just over three years ago that I would be practicing witchcraft, reading tarot, and offering prayers to a Norse Goddess, I would have told you that you were insane. As a man, I find it hard to articulate my relationship with her. However, I am thankful that she chose me. According to Norse mythology, her chariot is pulled by cats and she is the commander of the Valkyries. It is her and not Odin that gets first pick of all slain warriors. I have a cat depicted on the back of my book of shadows. Makes me think of her. I am a former police officer with PTSD. Strangely, I was baptized Catholic and educated by Jesuits (“God’s Marines). My life has improved and continues to improve as my spiritual journey has progressed. Blessed be.

As odd as this may sound for many days now i have felt like something is different. In trying to make someone of a different religion mad i said i worshipped freya. But oddly enough since that day i have found myself being drawn to worshipping her. I dont own a shrine of her but yet my fingers type up the kinds of gifts and stuff that would please her. I cant help but want to build a shrine to her in my house. I feel like now that i said that. Shes calling me almost like a small nagging in my mind.
