Great example of good teaching principles .. a good story to engage (ancient Greece) and concepts introduced with examples (classes). Brilliant .. thanks. One of the better classes on YouTube.

Bravo! A very effective way to clearly explain classes. The tone of voice and way of speaking is very effective. Your style really clicks with me.

Holy crap! It amazes me that the ideas of ancient Greek philosophers could be so beautifully connected to modern day computer programming. Thank you for making this video! It's increased my appreciation for philosophy even more.

I personally believe that databases can a great entry point into computer science, and that data lies at the core of most critical applications. Over the next few years, it is expected that jobs for people with expertise in databases will increase significantly. Data also happens to be a passion of mine, so I encourage you to pursue it!

I think learning SQL is a very important step. Having a firm foundation in how to store and access data, create and query tables and how to optimize queries is a skill that can be used no matter what other languages you are also working in. Continue to dig into UML as a way to understand object-oriented architecture also. UML can be applied to most of the important languages (VB or C#.NET, Java, etc.). Since you know VB, you might go with VB.NET, and add Javascript and HTML. Good luck!

@JRodriguez609 That's the way it was taught to me, so I never questioned it! Definitely many parts of it are based on the history we know and from books such as Aristotle's taxonomy of living things. Thanks for watching!

I appologize for butting in your conversation. I'm learning programming (Python, PHP, JavaScript, wxPython) just for fun. However I also learned SQL and how to interact with it using Python and PHP. I've enjoyed it very much and it came easy to me. I don't think I could ever be a Pro Programmer, but what about a DataBase Engineer? I see a lot of schools offering these types of degrees now days. I'm 42, have no Computer background, could I learn Databases? I mean someone who's not a programmer?

Hi there have you a very small project that shows me the analysis design and implementation of the design in c#/java/c++ or better an explanation. As I'm struggling to relate the diagrams in the design to actual code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do we create additional functions to create the objects? i.e. in case of library system. borrowbook() as part of the main class or part of the user class or library class

I think you need to elaborate on the end of the video. I get that you may have left this open-ended on purpose. However, ear the end you had something going on and I got what you were saying but you ended the video all of a sudden
