A brief moment in "Con Air" (1997) where Steve Buscemi defines the word 'irony' by giving an example of an ironic situation.

Great classic film

Steve Buscemi is a good dude. He lived in Brooklyn when I was growing up(He still lives there) and was always a nice guy to folks in the neighborhood. A man of the people. I hope he's doing well.

Saw this in the theater. When he walked off with the doll the whole audience groaned. When the little girl waved bye to the plane you could hear the whole audience sigh a breathe of relief

Steve Buscemi and John Malkovich were brilliant in this

You got to love how Garland saw honest men in Poe and Baby-O, since they're the only ones he really talks to. The rest are 'idiots' as he puts it.

Also, that little girl gave him that doll, which he clutches and sings their duet as the plane crashes in flames.

Garland Greene is the definition of a show-stealing background character. Bravo Steve Buscemi!

Also define irony:
Blood thirsty serial killers and rapists being scared of a normal looking guy, only because he is in super heavy restraints and killed 37 people.

I love the change in the mood! When the convicts first start dancing, Nick Cage is glaring at them, all determined and stuff. Then Steve Buscemi gives his definition of irony...back to Nick Cage, and he's looking all defeated. LOL

At no point in his life has Steve Buscemi been anything other than brilliant. There's no way that Garland Greene, 'Nucky' Thompson, Mr Pink, the guy in the wood-chipper from Fargo, Donald Theodore Karabotsos, Randy from Monsters Inc and crap waiter from Jack Rabbit Slims in Pulp Fiction was all the work of only one man.

Steve Buscemi is not only a good actor, he’s a good man. He was a former New York City firefighter. He rejoined his fellow firemen and firewomen when 9/11 happened. God bless that man.

Reminds me of Forrest gump. Even the guy sitting next to Cage looks like Bubba.

EDIT: shit, it IS Bubba!

What a great movie, they just make them like this anymore...what's worse, they don't even try.

I like how poe and Baby-o where the closest things Garland greene had to friends in the movie he only ever speaks to them and shares in their annoyance at the others singing and drinking

Needless to say, upon watching this movie, I have gladly accepted his quote as my official definition of irony

The pure definition of what i call a "wait a min character" you dont know how or why, but they just are magic and above the movie as a whole. Garland green in this movie was like aa dimond in a bag of money. Truley amazing.
