In the U.S. it has become nearly impossible to avoid gluten (& glysophates) in food, even food labeled as gluten free has gluten in it. We live in a dystopia dictatorship with a depopulation agenda.

I know this comment isn’t going to be popular, but I don’t think anybody actually has gluten allergy or celiac disease. I grew up in the 70s and 80s, and I don’t remember a single one of my friends ever having any type of food allergy. All of a sudden in the mid to late 90s, all of these people, mostly children, started to develop food allergies of all kinds(peanuts, dairy, gluten, shellfish, etc., etc. etc.). Again, while I was growing up, not a single person that I knew or heard of ever had any of these allergies. One of my friends kids has so many food allergies he can barely eat anything. My friend has to shop in a special aisle that has food that is based completely on cauliflower flour. It’s that bad.
In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, the food industry; basically led by Monsanto(now owned by Bayer pharmaceuticals), developed seeds that were genetically changed so that critical plant proteins, such as gluten, could no longer be appropriately digested by human G.I. tracts. All of our food comes from commercially owned farms that are contractually obligated to use these seeds. It is almost impossible for the average person to get food not grown from Monsanto’s seed stock. And if you can find these heritage seed grown fruits, vegetables and grains, they are prohibitively expensive . These genetically modified grains are then fed to and integrated into the animals(cows, pigs, chickens, etc…) which are commercially slaughtered which we then consume. some people are able to handle these genetically modified proteins, however, a small proportion of humans cannot. These are the unfortunates that have developed “ celiac disease” and all the other related comorbidities. This is also the reason that a lot of people who have been completely healthy most of their lives all of a sudden develop a food allergy out of nowhere. It is the only thing that makes sense in my opinion. There is no way that out of the clear blue all these people just started to develop these food allergies. Again, I know that this opinion, and this comment will not be popular. I apologize beforehand.

You can’t truly start to treat or mitigate a disease process until you understand the true root cause of it. Now people spend tons of money on pharmaceutical treatments that are never truly going to work because the cause of the problem is actually the food they are consuming to begin with. This is all by design to control population, make billions of dollars for the pharmaceutical industry selling useless drugs, and generally keep people in a constant state of anxiety and misery. This is how the people that control us want us to be.

To anyone looking for relief, try a mast cell stabilizer like Cromolyn. I was prescribed Cromolyn to ingest in an effort to get my gut under control, which ended up not working for me because it was too harsh for my digestive system, but when I used it topically on my dermatitis herpetiformis it stopped the rash in its tracks because it stabilized the immune response. Benadryl only temporarily pauses the immune response. Ask for Cromolyn liquid to apply topically, total game changer! This is if you are still having reactions after getting off of gluten. I believe I am reacting to a minuscule amount getting through due to cross contamination no matter how hard I try to avoid it.

Excellent video, many thanks. I think it's worth emphasising the point you made which is really important- that gluten is found in wheat, barley and rye.

Thanks for this video. Who would have thought that one day Michael Palin would teach me about dermatitis herpetiformis.

It took me 15 years to be diagnosed with DH< despite some of the worst most painful, and often infected pustules on my skin. It surrounded my neckline, but as it wasnt present on my knees or elbows, and had consistent negative results on Coelic disease. It made me sick and miserable, I couldnt wear jewelery, felt like i had shingles around my neck all the time. I believed it to be DH many times but was told by doctors i was neg for Coeliac, so it could not be that. Then one different doctor said yes it is...I went off gluten for 2 weeks to see if it worked...and guess what - after 15 years of pain, misery, and every drug and cream imaginable - even 3 biopsies by dermatologists - I finally had a diagnosis.! The medical profession is just SO ignorant so often!!

Gosh doc, this is the first thing that sounds plausible 🙏🏻. I’m in a very rural area and med help is very limited. I’ve tried researching my rash issues a year ago and have never found anything close to what I’m dealing with. Thanks for talking about this. We need help.

DH was the most painful, itchy, rash that I have ever had! I had it a bit above my thumb knuckle. The doc was difficult and didn't want to biopsy it, but I demanded that he do it and he was visibly surprised. When I went to search the web for DH, it kept showing dermatomyositis. It was years before I got a dx for Celiac. Thank you for this video, it made clear what I have not been able to understand.

omg i do have auto immune disease my doctor didn’t tell me this, i’ve had these rashes for months and he said its because im sensitive to the auto immune meds im taking, stopped taking it for days and the rashes still appears i dont think it has to do with the meds. I think its from the gluten i’ve been consuming, the rash increases when i eat bread for breakfast. Thank You doc

I've been suffering with DH for more than 20 years. My rash is on my knees and elbows exactly as depicted but only comes out every summer/heat! Clears up by early winter.. Thought for many years it was solar urticaria (allergy to UVA/UVB sunlight) Now I know the real underlying issue and will begin my GF journey to healing after positive diagnosis. Thanks Dr.

If you are a celiac, you must give up all grains. Even the ones that are gluten-free. All grains have some form of gluten. Also, dairy can mimic gluten, too.

Two of my dogs, that are father and daughter, have terrible itchy scaly pink and red skin in their ears, feet and Daddy's buttocks. He also has some on his lower throat neck area, elbows and edges of his back legs. The first time Dad broke out, the vet diagnosed it as allergic dermatitis. Vet said it was likely a flea allergy, all it takes is one flea bite to cause it. That it's seasonal. 🤪
Then I noticed that he was smelling like corn chips / crisps and popcorn. I soon found out that's a symptom of Seborrhea. 🍿 I've tried many ways to heal them from the horrible itching. Sound healing videos do temporarily help, while being played. Try them.

Your educational video reminded me that there is a kibble brand that significantly reduced the itching. It's costly. I do feed them Grain Free kibble. If I remember correctly, it was pea flour in some kibble brands that caused more itching. I'll have a look over your gluten free diet to see if my dogs can have it.
LAST QUESTION What about Leaky Gut syndrome causing skin health problems? Does taking pro/pre biotics help?

I've got fluid filled bumps on my shins and forearms that I have to admit I scratch and pop sometimes. I've treated what I thought was heat rash in the past with baking soda and it worked but this current condition reacts very little to baking soda

Be careful using topical steroids especially if there's a possible infection in the area. Steroids decrease the bodied immune system response which could lead to runaway infection. I believe anti-histamines also can do this so my point is to be very aware of this and make an educated guess about your infection risk.

Finally found something that looks and acts like the rash I am getting from time to time.
I’ll get mine checked out.

If I am not Celiac, what do you think about including fermented homemade sourdough bread? I’ve been eating it and feel great, despite being gluten-free for eight years. I’m gluten free with everything else.
