Hey guys, Curtis here your Autel Diagnostic Consultant. Today I am going to share with you a very interesting case study that involved configuring a USED DME module to a 2007 BMW Mini Cooper. For those of you who do not know, BMW doesn't allow us to program any used modules if we use their OEM interface. Some times the Maxisys Elite can program it, but it might not have the CAS/DME adjustment feature needed to get the car to start.

So what do you when your ELITE can't program the used model and does not have any adjustment features? In this presentation, I will show you a secret software that will do this feature (and more) with just a few clicks of a button.

We ran through this issue on a 2004 745li. The car needed to pass state obd2 emissions inspection but the IM monitors would reset as soon as you'd turn off the car. I came to the conclusion that the ram/memory in the DME couldn't hold the data. It does happen sometimes. The car would need to be driven every time to ready the monitors but a person just can't drive a couple hundred miles non stop. So we orders a used DME. I used my elite to reprogram and reset parameters. Didn't work, had the same problem. Used INPA also, no luck. Finally sent it to a ECM guy to swap out the internals so to ISN and CAS would be synced. He couldn't do it either for some reason and said the used DME was bad. I didn't really believe it. Put the old one back and the customer got inspection done in another county. Saw the HEX 2 that could fix my problem supposedly at that time but was way too much and wasn't worth it. It's a very rare problem and usually happens on older vehicles that are not much on the road. What do you charge to do this?

Hi, Mr Curtis, let me see if i anderstood what u did. the isn code was copy from de used ecu (from other car) and transfered to the cas of the car? if So then the isn now is from other car too, or am i very confused? I mean, what isn has the car righ now? Thanks

hi thank you for all of your vedios i will be appreciate if you help me in how to fix the problem of my programer autel im 608 when i want to add new key in vw cars 2015 and more it demand from me to read the orginal key by the programer but the programer cant read it and always said to me search for other resons such as internen and caels and son althogh every thing is fine thank you hope i can have an answer

What about the vin number. When need smog is it gonna read old vin number from donor car or the actual vin from new car ?

Im608 has a a jtag for eeproms, and there lots of software to read, erase, and write eeproms so just need to duplicate the module

Hi I have a question I own the Autel elite and it's seemed I can no longer access 2018 up Chrysler after my subscription expired even with the 8-12 bypass. What I read was that all vehicles would still work without a sub. but I wouldn't get any new vehicles that came out also I would no longer be able to program Benz or BMW.

Autel ms908 sp can do programming with ford? I mean not software update. Other things. For example pcm swapping. Or security system sync.?

I saw a person who program a used dme module where he changed the number of the cass module with a BMW software and he used a decoding from the same software and he was successful and he was abel to syncroniz the cass and dme module

If my Elite and IM 508 with xp400 can't do a used PCM on that Mini, then it can go to the dealer or that Mini can be someone else's major

Thanks for the video! But couldn't you just use IM608 with a Gbox to read and write ISN from one DME to another?

Hey Curtis, thanks for the tutorial. I have a question...where did you go to learn how to program and code because I've been trying to find someone or a class to teach me how to program, but not successful, thank you. And also does it teach you how to program all make and models ECU, ECM, PCM and TCM?

Did you have to drop $5800 because you can install a part of that Auto Hex program on to your client's PCs and remote in and get the jobs done remotely using their Autel jbox between their pc much like an OE sub when client's Autel units aren't able to do the job as expected?😄

Hey Curtis, while I like your videos I think you may need to study a little more on your core brand Autel. Both the 608 and 508 with the xp400 do pretty much all of the Autohex work at half the price.
The reason the Elite wouldn't do the CAS alignment is that the ISN wasn't matched. All of which can be done with £1500 of Autel products. With a 5/608 and a 908p/e you can do pretty much anything on BMW bar 2019+ software updates
