Man, after discovering MT POP through this Red Bull competition video, I’ve been on a binge, watching every clip of him I can find online! I’m hooked and can’t get enough! The way he rides the beat is so unique, it’s like he brings out sounds you don’t normally notice and turns them into something visual. It’s like watching a human equalizer interpret every single Hz! it’s absolutely mesmerizing. Never a dull moment, no matter the beat! He even reminds me of the Jabbawockeez! a collaboration between them would be insane! 🔥

I think people saying "he didn't get any popping songs" and last year when waxxxky "didn't get any wacking songs" misunderstand the whole idea of the competition. It is all about everyone coming together, from all around the world, from different heritages all with different styles of dancing unifying as one. yes the DJ chooses the music but its not chosen to the dancers on stage, its chosen by vibe, feeling, popularity, how much it is known, and even where in the world they are located. If you dance in a finite style it will be harder to win as less songs are catered to you. styles like generic hip-hop dancing shine best as it is so vague in its music choice and style.

I say that all to just say MT pop 100% deserved it, he beat the odds by doing as said and dancing his style. Other notable dancers were The D Soraki, Rubix, and my personal favourite this year, Ryan.

Spend some time to check out the original dance of each songs, you will be shocked when you find out how creative and resourceful the dancer is and how deep he understands the root of each song’s cultural background and the stories behind it. e.g. snake man move as the Indian element for the first song… 0:12
