The interviewer definitely softballed this interview. Letting John Lee dodging all the questions that truly matters.

The future of Hong Kong is not Hong Kong, but the Great Bay Area Metropolis.

I disagree the narrative that Mr. John Lee has no control over the geopolitical factors. He does. Mr. Lee spent the last 2 years supporting "one country", the next 3 years should be demonstrating "two systems". If the first 2 years are about defending national security, then the next 3 years will be defending freedoms and democracy under the Basic Law of Hong Kong.

Your chairman Xi set a target of 5% growth and you only delivered 3%?😂😂😂

Lhatoo asks penetrating questions about the war of narratives. He is right in suggesting that HK is losing the war. John Lee, sadly, is not a great communicator who can change the balance of power in this war.

Whatever your views may be, this is an undeniably shallow interview. Probably because Lhatoo was waiting the entire time until he can start throwing punches at the US 😂

The best years of HK is truly OVER. The outflow of talents and their replacement with Mainland Chinese means gradually, but surely, HK will become more like a mainland chinese city, hence losing its uniqueness, culture and characteristics that made HK … HK. The continuing reliance on land sale as the govt’s primary source of income means more and more HKers face high housing costs (both purchasing and renting). John Lee is an improvement over Carrie Lam. But the stone is set for him and I feel his hands are tied and his legs shackled.

I’ve been to Hong Kong, and I went there via land border through Shenzhen
While Shenzhen was a beacon of progress, Hong Kong felt like a underdeveloped backwater not even having HALF of the mainland’s consumable and product diversity and still managing to be overpriced

I have no idea why he still has a job; he is totally redundant. All the major decisions are made by the Central Government anyway. He is just there to take orders from the central government. Why doesn’t the Central Government cut out the middleman and administer HKSAR directly? It’s pointless to have a team of useless ‘politicians’ who haven’t done a single thing to improve Hong Kong’s economy or living standards. Hasn’t this ‘Hong Kong Government’ made enough mistakes to give the Central Government reason enough to get rid of them?

Yoda should ask John Li where is Dubai Prince, Sheikh Ali Rashed Ali Saeed Al Maktoum, and his $500 million investment.🤣🤣🤣

Cut the nonsense. Send a pragmatist from the mainland and directly govern Hong Kong. This city does not need self rule for its own sake if at the end of the day those who lead locally aren’t up for it.

Emperor Xi will decide for HK, John doesn't need to worry at all!

fifty or fifteen percent? You need to learn and correct your spoken English. What a shame to be the CEO of Hong Kong exposing his weakness in English but to run an international city like Hong Kong.

After the media being flooded with the clown show that is American "democracy" it is nice to see some people actually understand their job, achieve what they promised and through hard work get even better results than expected. It is something many nations, governments and leaders can learn from.

Oh indeed Lee has achieved and changed the culture of the HK government's approach to enhanced and synced with mainland CCP as one of the authoritarian rule's city. I'm surprised the host can keep his composure after what Lee had said, even use of the word "ludicrous" referring the statement from the resignation Judge!? It seemed now they pretty much adopted the capabilities of mainland how to manipulates the polls and projection results as well

A recent coup attempt in Bolivia highlighted the use of Chinese-made military equipment, specifically the PRC Tiger 4×4 armored vehicle.
The incident brought attention to the vehicle’s vulnerabilities when the steering tie rod broke after hitting a curb, leaving soldiers struggling to repair it by kicking the damaged wheel.
The Tiger 4×4, produced by Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing in Shaanxi Province, China, is designed to transport infantry with enhanced armor protection. It can be adapted for various roles, including command post, law enforcement, riot control, and ambulance.
