Was very hesitant on selling my minty XR650R very hard finding an equal big bore replacement but got the new 701 SM and is it ever an awesome bike. Very cool having 74 reliable hp with an e-start!.

Hell yeah! I love supermotos, much under rated oddballs, but where can you buy one? What's the UK dealer network like?

In Oz all 3 brands are are nearly 20k! Just way too much for essentially a dirt bike! If you see the forums and FB pages there are heaps of broken dashes and other gremlins. And after all these years ktm still hasn't sorted the false neutrals that can happen in any gear! If they weren't so overpriced and more reliable they would sell plenty of them!

November '22 issue of either Ride or Bike magazine saying the SM couldn't be used as your single bike...rubbish, fuel tanks, cruise control, luggage, etc, everything is available, one bike that would take you round the planet, never mind to the shops!

Dude, "supermotard" was just French for "superbiker". As in, "ABC's Wide World of Sports: Superbikers", inaugurated in 1979 as a TV-friendly event that aired through '85. But like jazz, blues, rockabilly, and a few other things the US got right, it became a "prophet without honor in its own country."

£9500 for a single is too much. I got a brand new gsxs 1000, old shape for 8 grand last year . Skids, wheelies and 155 top speed. No brainer

I was riding my 22 s1000rr 2 weeks ago a car cut me off and i wrecked pretty bad flatlined in the ambulance and the bike is totalled now im torn if i want another s1000rr or supermoto

Why would anyone buy this when KTM are releasing the 490sm with 60hp and parallel twin which will probably be cheaper

SM...no it didn't, the launch was 'Superbikers' 1984, when Danny 'Magoo' Chandler introduced himself to the World...the day a legend was born, as supermoto became a thing...YouTube it!

Don’t really care for this guys review, thought it was very poor.
