I'm excited about Porzingis. Everyone wants to compare him to Dirk because he's a tall, white, European player, but Kristaps seems to me like he could be something totally new. He's fun to watch so far, I can't wait to see what he will turn out to be!

let s face it, if he were black with EXACTLY the same skill set- he d be hailed as the next Wilt, and have been drafted no, 1 easily. obviously coaches are wary of euro players- that they may bust- but all those guys that did- were projects from the get go- this guy was skilled and smooth from the get go- but scouts didn't believe their eyes cos he s a euro. scouting is really deficient in the nba- when players like durant and pierce, george, curry and westbrook, paul, the list goes on- almost every all star had a player drafter ahead of the that was more highly touted that isn't . And every year the best player in the draft is like the 3-5th pick, and rookie of the year a late lottery. i mean consistently .
etc are all clearly dominant in college, great, smart players, but then overlooked in drafts- because scouts and gms go for dated, obsolete ways of measuring players, like the combine, vertical, wingspan, - none of that matters- i mean it helps- but it all comes down to game.
