Hikaru was also described as being stubborn on another website. I think that's the first time a Pink PreCure is described as that.

The fact that we have two Asobi Asobase voice actresses must be my favorite part of the voice cast.

And the thought of maybe having a more science focused season sounds fun

*A TYPICAL PRECURE DAY*

Elena: Hey Tsubomi, can you bring Nao with you? I’m in a big pinch with these flowers and the pain in the butt which are the crappy siblings!

I think Prunce's form outside of his ufo is meant to be a reference to Japan's common cultural perception of what Martians look like. What they (especially small children) picture in their minds when they think "generic alien", much like how folks in America picture the Roswell Greys. Hope that helps explain that part of his design.

As a person who like MTP (so much that I am about to re-watch it fifth time, this time to actually make a long commentary about it), I am hyped with Murayama writing STP. While I am mostly absent from the debate about the show, I can see from comments in internet that many don't find it good, however most of the argument I find tends to have the same response from me, you probably need to rewatch MTP, because it actually gives what you ask for.

For example, unlike say, Hugtto or KiraKira who have great individual episodes but very often lead to inconsistent characterization (just look at Emiru episode 9 and compare it to every Emiru appearances later on), MTP stick to its characterization from beginning to the end, thanks to Murayama's tight writing. I find people then use this consistency as a sign that the characters do not grow, but I'll respond that they actually grow in the role that Murayama write them as (so you can't judge Mirai's character growth by comparing it to Liko's character growth because they have different role). If you rewatch MTP, you can easily see it. Heck, you can count named character that doesn't have character growth with your hand.

Murayama may have many ideas, and if you don't follow it closely you may find it to be messy, but he write them responsibly, so you never have wasted ideas, more often then not, it a new idea appear, it will play an important role later (to continue comparison with Hugtto, the show tell us that Homare can not handle horror, how many of her later appearance actually use it for her characterization or to move the plot?). So when you rewatch MTP, you can pick up all the stuff that seems unimportant that later turn out either relevant to the plot or symbolically relevant (like the moon and sakura petal in MTP episode 1's opening). Heck, it actually manage to give a reasonable reason on why they collect all linkle stone twice.

I am not saying MTP is perfect or all of critics on it are false. MTP probably has the most troublesome production of Precure so far (excluding Kirakira because Toei was meddling with it too much, but even then I will say that Kirakira has better production than MTP), so I can understand if aspects of it troubled (or even offend) people, at least in internet. The way I usually say it, MTP isn't GoPri where Toei goes all out in animation and production (and it unfortunately fall flat for Toei in term of sale). But it never fall to the low of Kirakira's clash of theme (a team precure that has little to no teamwork, a cake+animal based precure even though cake is fatal to animal) or the plot tumor that HapCha's love triangle do to its story, and it is thanks to Murayama. If STP manage to have good production, we should at least have a decent season ahead of us.

And I should probably disclose it, but I like the yuri aspect (or at least the yuri teasing aspect) of Precure. Murayama is what I am going to describe as "romantic writer". If a precure supposed to have het relationship (like Harry and Homare), then he will make their interaction romantic. If a precure supposed to have close relationship (very close friendship or more) with other female you bet he will also make their interaction romantic too (you can watch Hugtto episode 16, and of course the entirety of MTP). So I expect to have a lot of "close interaction" between the cure next season. (And a consistent one. So you won't have character A responsible for giving character B her heart and switch B's allegiances, only to have character C appear practically out of nowhere, sing an insert song, and just like that replace A from B's list of most important person).

Aaaaannnddd as usual I ramble too much. TL;DR I am hyped for STP thanks to Murayama as writer. The rest of the staffs looks great and if I am not mistaken have worked together in the past (the director has worked alongside Murayama in Kirakira's Halloween episode, for example). But as always, keep your expectation low, and you won't be disappointed (most of the time).

Side note: If you rewatch Kirakira's Halloween episode (and to some extend, Kirakira's movie), it actually filled with subtle jab from Murayama toward Kirakira (for how it executed its idea on tv series). Kinda hilarious when you realize that is is the only episode written by Murayama.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, as well as not expect too much. Sometimes the best seasons are surprises.

I’m very intrigued by the show and I’m very optimistic for Murayama, His work in the Precure movies however, have been well received. He wrote the All Stars DX trilogy (including the fan favorite DX3) and Minna de Utau! Kiseki no Mahō (which considered one of the better post-DX crossover movies).

Just because one person wrote a divisive season doesn’t automatically mean StarTwi will be bad.

Fuwa and Prunce’s names are based on the Japanese words for fluffy and squishy respectively, which is why Prunce is a jellyfish.

Thank you for this informative video. Good to see how things are going. I really hope CQC return and that the song albums will be awesome. Very anxious to see the 12 Princesses show up in the show as well. Really excited about this season.

I can't wait to see your thoughts on the new movie! I personally think it's one if not the best all stars movie, precure has made yet.

I'm intrigued to see where this series will go and I agree with LaLa being the first alien Precure and might have some great story opportunities ^^

I'm especially loving Lala so far! And am I the only one who's thinking of Present Mic whenever I see Purunsu's VA?

Great video. The characters are interesting. One thing that bugs me was when you called Keiichiro a idiot. He's really smart, he's just hot-headed, that's all. Other than that, UCHUU

3:46 The reason I’m excited for Konomi Kohara is because of her role last year as Kirin Kumatsuka in Gakuen Babysitters. Considering how heartbroken that little sweetheart was when she realized she couldn’t become a real life witch, it feels really exciting to learn that Kirin is finally going to have her dream come true of being a Magical Girl.
