I sold my oldest tree a 20 year old Kowhai, it was dead within a month.
Like losing a friend.

Amazing what you can achieve with nursery stock. Looks amazing! Would love to buy a smaller tree like that from you

It is hard when you sell your tree after taking care of it for ages. I sell now 4 of them and I'm so sad.

I think I detect a bit of sellers remorse, understandably so. beautiful tree, hope it's a good home

Lovely tree. It would break my heart selling such a beauty as well. Berberis in Patagonia are tricky and difficult to work as Bonsai. You did a splendid job!

How that's the most developed barberry bonsai I've seen yet! I understand the struggle of selling trees. I started my nursery this year and I'm trying to hold onto my best one or few for species I'm most interested in.

Wow! Haven't heard that name in a while. I ❤ N. Lenz work. His pottery as well as his trees are in a world of their own

Easiest way is to sell pots for bonsai trees mostly and then grow your own bonsai in plastic containers and only if selling then put into porcelain pots 😎

Not trying to be a hater, just constructive.

First of all, the first and second branch come from almost the same point and they look like they are opposites while the way it should be the first branch must be the biggest and the second branch clearly above first one, still big but not as much as the main one

Also think that catches more my attention and I cannot stop seeing is the fact that the conical shape is inverted from the nebari to the first branch. The nebari should be the thickest part of the trunk and then it should go thinner towards the top of the tree.

Obviously the value of a bonsai is completely subjective and it depends if you like it or not. But if you use the Japanese bonsai "rules" this tree has two features that clearly do not match with these rules.

However is a very beautiful bonsai but at the same time this catches so much my attention and I cannot stop seeing it.
