LYRICS:
Are you up there?
Just give me a signal I'm reaching you now
Because I remember the sound of your voice
But I don't remember what we talked about
It doesn't matter, that's a waste of time

So take off your rings and lipstick for me

I swear that I can hear you in the wind
You're singing to me and you're
Dancing in the halls outside again
I'm always listening

Send me off into space on this rocket invention
We'll look at the lights over the atmosphere
Eat gold medal ribbon till we die
Up here it's self sabotage, suffocation and stale taste of blood

I swear that I can hear you in the wind
You're singing to me and you're
Dancing in the halls outside again
And I'm always listening

I'll teach you to love again

Swear that I can hear you in the wind
You're singing to me and
Dancing in the halls outside again
I'm always listening, I swear

“It was about a friend that passed away. She was my first girlfriend. She passed during the making of this record. It was hard because she was the first person I ever fell in love with and said those words to. It’s a song for her, letting her know I still think about her. ‘Gold Medal Ribbon’ was her favorite ice cream flavor. We used to go get ice cream together all of the time in high school.”

The most underrated song on the album. Anyone else agree?

Vic's voice. Mike's drumming. Tony's guitar skills. Jaime's bass. My tears and sobs

This song has a lot of meaning for me. On June 24th, my friend was murdered. He was a musician and a good singer. The funeral was held on July 1st and on the way home I listened to this album and was mindlessly singing along and not really paying attention to the words because I was emotionally exhausted. When the lyrics "you're singing to me and you're dancing in the halls outside again, I'm always listening" came up, it felt like getting hit by a freight train. I listened to the song the whole way through and tried to keep singing along through tears. The song ended just as I put the car in park in my driveway so I paused the music before Bedless came on. I sat there and cried for what felt like hours. I still can't listen to this song without bursting into tears at that line. For the rest of my life this song will remind me of Brandon. Rest in peace buddy, we miss you.

you can hear all his emotions while he sang this, I think that's the most beautiful thing a vocalist can do, this song is amazing just like the entire album

I remember the first time I heard this and I heard "Are you up there?" I just thought "oh shit this is gonna be a song about death isn't it". It's so underrated, how can this be the least popular song on the album when it's the most beautiful and most powerful, and probably most personal of theirs

Does anyone else get chills when they hear Vic say wind? just me?

the reason ptv are so good is because their lyrics have a lot of meaning. But the people who don't like their music don't understand what the lyrics mean. It's great. :)

My brother committed suicide six months ago and every day feels like hell. This song is the only thing that helps. The sounds of just airy freedom and unknowing in the background resonate with me. The words are the things I've been trying to say for months but have struggled to. It's very hard but I feel like he is still here somehow. I miss you so much Alex. I'm sorry.

This song resonates with me so well. The synths and vic's astounding vocals in the chorus just fucking hit me like a bus. I connect with the lyrics very personal, as it's written about Vic's first girlfriend recently passing away. My best friend just recently passed away, so the lyrics seem like they were almost written in my own journal. Fantastic job once again to Mike, Jaime, Tony, and Vic. Cannot wait to hear how much of a heart crusher this is live.

This album is a masterpiece. The best possible follow up to Collide I could ever imagine!

Are you up there?
Just give me a signal I'm reaching you now
'Cause I remember the sound of your voice
But I don't remember what we talked about
It doesn't matter, that's a waste of time
So take off your rings and lipstick for me
I swear that I can hear you in the wind
You're singing to me and you're
Dancing in the halls outside again
I'm always listening
Send me off into space on this rocket invention
We'll look at the lights over the atmosphere
Eat gold medal ribbon 'til we die
Up here it's self-sabotage, suffocation, and stale taste of blood
I swear that I can hear you in the wind
You're singing to me and you're
Dancing in the halls outside again
And I'm always listening
I'll teach you to love, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
I'll teach you to love, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Again
I swear that I can hear you in the wind
You're singing to me and you're
Dancing in the halls outside again
I'm always listening
I'm always listening
(I swear, I swear, I swear, oh)

Definitely my favourite song off the Misadventures album

I feel like part of the reason that this song really stands out is because of how it works. The intro, verse/chorus, and the bridge are all incredibly different, and yet the way they're placed and the way they blend together is just perfect.

funny how this song was written about Vic's first girlfriend who passed away (RIP) and how her fave ice cream was gold medal ribbon... funny because my friend passed away not really that long ago and his fave was also gold medal ribbon

I feel like I'll never get tired of this song. I've liked the song The Balcony Scene for as long as I can remember and still to this day I listen to it. Those two songs just make my life so complete. Everytime I hear it, I hear the emotion in Vic's voice and it makes me so emotional to the point where I am just crying. The acoustic versions of I'm low on gas and you need a jacket and Hold on till May make me so sad and make me cry a lot. I don't want to sound like one of those persons who says "PTV saved my life" cos the only thing I'm trying to say is that I love PTV and will never stop listening to them. Thanks PTV.

my best friend passed away a few years ago and pierce the veil was our favorite band (it is still mine) and we always said we would go to one of their concerts one day. we never got to go to one together. but i went to their made to destroy tour in Tempe, az and sang along to all the songs and it was really amazing to see the band who got me through a lot of really hard times, thank you.
