The PakLite has been around for a LONG time -- I've had one of these for ~15+ years!
Great work on the videos! 👍

if you like those, the more modern twist is the postage stamp size USB port led lightbulbs. they can pop into any usb port, including rechargeable usb battery pack/stick, your car charger usb ports, on the end of a flexible usb cable for fishing into hard to illuminate spots when doing repairs, in small wall chargers as nightlights, etc. 5 packs are only a few bucks.

From what I'm learning, flashlights that are sealed with o-rings, don't allow the batteries to off-gas which causes the high failure rate.

I've owned one of those "goofy" keychain LED lights for around 20 years (not the same one for all of that time -- I've gone through 3 or 4 of them) and I reckon I use it an average of once a day, maybe more. Nothing at all goofy about it, for my purposes.
Good video, though. You're right about those cheap-o aluminum flashlights; those things are hopeless.
