Are you being vain about your physical appearance?

Reason #12 people stop having children...
Their appearance!!
Oh how I know all about this!
From eating disorders and body dismorphia to set free and seeing my body as a temple and sacrifice to the Lord, I'm here to testify I've overcome and so can you.
Now don't get me wrong. I still struggle to not compare. I struggle to not envy other mamas that snap back and seem to have it all together. I still struggle to envy that woman that barely gains weight in pregnancy and 2 weeks after birth looks like she never had a baby. I struggle still with the temptation to complain about my body.
But I don't allow it to stop me from being used as a vessel of the Lord to bring forth life.
The Bible says our body is His temple. This means we are to take care of it without over obsessing over it. What does that look like? Eating healthy. Getting up and not being lazy. And fasting as he calls us to fast. If we will do these things, we can trust God to do the rest in caring for our bodies.
We are also called to be living sacrifices for the Lord. That means it's no longer about vanity and the perfect body but rather doing the will of the Lord. Bringing forth the next generation to be used by the Lord is an honor and great calling.
Yes our body will change.
Yes we might not snap back.
Yes we might have stretch marks.
Yes we might not be admired by many.
But we will be admired and looked up to by our families. We will be impacting many by the children we bring into this world. We will have battle scars of the fight we fought to partner with God in bringing forth life. The same way our mothers fought the fight.
I've never once, even kinda of, regretted a child I've birthed! No matter how painful, how hard, how close to death I might of been... their life will always be worth the fight and the toll my body takes.
And the best news... doctors treat pregnancy like an illness but God made our bodies so perfect. It's been proven pregnancy actually is healing to our body and keeps us from aging as quickly. Our bodies go through many changes in pregnancy but it's also quite beneficial.
