And reports like these are the reason why most people are now buying vehicles that dwarf WWII tanks.

Of course small cars are more dangerous for the passengers these days if everyone else drives pickups and SUVs that have chassees that lie about a foot higher than the average vehicle of the early 2000s. The average American car today has its engine at the same height as the heads of the passengers of any vehicle smaller than a station wagon.

Not to mention that small cars are definitely safer than large vehicles for one important and often overlooked group of people: Pedestrians!
