👨‍🎓My Blue Heaven - Lesson:

This is our tribute to 'My Blue Heaven,' composed by Walter Donaldson and George A. Whiting in 1924. Originally a 1920s hit, the song quickly became a jazz standard, inspiring countless artists to create their own versions over the years.
For the Outro we use the "Mill House Stomp", a composition by the fantastic Jonathan Stout, that he wrote in 2014.

Of all the absolute legitimate Django style. Guitar picking over gypsy swing
Josco is for the foreseeable future the obvious frontrunner. With none quite so absolutely fresh and looking ahead. As he is intuiting the ground of The musical landscape
He never relents he is always double infusing every inch of real estate. With. Brilliant. Innovation

I never get tired of listening to you playing Joscho. Not to mention it’s intoxicating trying to watch your fingers moving in a blur up and down the fretboard. Fantastic performance!🫶🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏

The one American guitar the 'Belgian Gypsy Jazz Giant' Django Reinhardt played on a visit to New York, shortly before his early death in 1953, was a Gretsch. I know that because Chet Atkins told me in a radio interview when he played in Ottawa Canada the summer of '71 that "Django's was the only autograph" [Chet ever sought].
How could Django have known? That same young man, then in his 20s, was just a decade away from "Mr. Guitar" status; playing his Gretsch signature model 'Country Gentleman' --coveted, then acquired, just in time for The Beatles, by George Harrison.

Like women, you know some good guitars "look good in green." Case in point.

The acoustic instrument being so well played: an update of the same guitar Django played, a 'Maccaferri'. But you knew that.

Beautiful lesson for My Blue Heaven! Thanks, Joscho.

Don't ger me wrong, I'm a lifelong fan of Tommy Emamnuel, but this is just a different world, a Narnia so to speak. In this area Joscho is second to noone. Also topnotch play from Julia and Raffael. Kudos.

I don't think there are enough superlatives to describe Joscho's performance, ear, technique, and choice of collaborators. Some people may wish they were alive to see Django play. I'm happier to live when I can see these high fidelity recordings of Joscho playing (and I hope to see him in person some day). Thank you for sharing your tremendous talent with the world!
