Over the last few years, the classic truck scene has grown to epic proportions, thanks to pioneers like Dino Battilana. What started out as a pre-show get together has become a fully sanctioned event of its own that attracts the best custom Chevy trucks from all over the United States, to form what we know as Dino's Git Down.

0:45 Clifford: The Low Red ’62 GMC
After 2,000 miles of travel, Chad “Goose” Goswick finally made it to the Git Down with Clifford! Powered by a 454ci Chevy Big Block, and with chassis work done by Built by Brooks, this GMC stands out from the rest. Modified to sit on the ground with an air bagged suspension, it now tucks a set of 22-inch GM “Transit” wheels with Nitto 420S 285/35R22 tires.

2:53 Dan Smalley’s ’55 Chevy Crew Cab
Dan had a vision of this truck that no one wanted to build—forcing him to take matters into his own hands. Powered by an LBZ Duramax diesel engine, with twin Garrett turbos and a C&R Racing radiator, this big and unique hauler is the flagship for Dan’s shop. Making for a solid foundation is a GSI Machine and Fab chassis that utilizes Ridetech airbags and an AccuAir management system. The final touches are the 22” and 24” Raceline C10 billet wheels and PPG paint laid down by Keith’s Paint Shop.

5:35 Frank Rechlin’s ’63 GMC
A painter by trade, Frank knows how to make a vehicle glimmer. Although somewhat controversial, he used gold paint on the body and powder coated details in gold, to create an unmistakable color. This GMC was laid out thanks to Porterbuilt suspension pieces that allow for a set of 22 and 24-inch Intro billet wheels. Under the hood is a Chevy Big Block engine with plenty of power to spin the rear wheels. A completely custom truck bed holds subwoofers, which emit tunes through a blow-through section, connected to the cab. Frank also gave a demonstration of the rear trunk system that uses Tricky Air & Billet components to lift and lower the custom cover.

7:48 Mark Lynch’s ’49 LS-Swapped Chevy
If you’re new here, we can tell you that Kevin is big fan of modern suspension systems and the benefits they can bring to older trucks. This ’49 Chevy has a Roadster Shop coil-over Spec chassis. The truck sits on a set of US Wheel 22-inch smoothie wheels with 265/35ZR22 and 285/35ZR22 Nitto NT555 G2 tires that have been customized with whitewalls. Finally, we have a peek under the hood to see the LS1 V8 engine that was swapped in for modern performance.

10:23 Dino’s ’74 Chevy C10 Stepside: The “Black Widow”
We got some time with Dino Battilana to talk about his Stepside pickup that he recently finished with help from Switch Suspension. Complete with a supercharged LS3 engine, the truck is a pure rocket! The Choppin’ Block chassis lets it lay over a set of 20 and 22-inch American Racing billet wheels. Dino shares his story about the origin of this truck’s name, as it was infested with spiders!

12:13 Dino’s ’63 Chevy Panel Truck
One of Dino’s most beloved vehicles is like an “old girlfriend” to him. Long ago, he used it to make service calls for his appliance business and it was one of the first vehicles to receive a Porterbuilt front Dropmember, which lets it sit on the pavement. Dino adds that the truck is equipped with Nitto NT555 G2 tires and he loves the fitment and ride quality of them. This truck is a sight for anyone that attends the Git Down!

13:31 Danny Carrasco’s “Sonic 56” ’56 Chevy 3100
The team at Premier Street Rod created this stunning truck from scratch. Every piece of the truck was sourced with new parts, like Premier’s reproduction cab and body, set on top of a TCI Engineering chassis. Painted Honda Civic “Sonic Blue” and with an LS3 under the hood, this Chevy earned its name. Like many other trucks built by Premier Street Rod, it dons a set of Budnik billet wheels wrapped in Nitto Invo tires.
