Показать описание
Acanthus mollis is a bold, foliage-forward plants that flowers in Spring and early Summer. It creates wonderful contrast in the garden and lights up shady spots. BUT – it can be invasive if you don't know what you're dealing with. This plant expands by rhizomes, and it's best to leave the roots undisturbed if you decide to include it in your garden. You can also use a root barrier to contain the rhizomes. For more info, watch the full video above.

I've had it growing in deep shade in my SoCal garden. In 20 years I've gone from one plant to 4. I'd hardly call that a problem. Meanwhile, it's stately and has real presence in the garden. I love it.

I also have a smaller variegated version called Whitewater. It's also growing in deep shade and really brightens it up. Whitewater sends up a white stalk with pink flowers. It's gorgeous.

What does if mean if some leaves are turning yellow and green leaves are starting to wilt? Too much or too little water??

Speaking of sculptures... have you ever noticed the leaf patterns on Corinthian columns? Guess what plant is that ;)
